Hmm, I just reblogged it from another site, but I think I can help you in terms of what to buy and how to do it. If you click the link, it’ll take you to the complete photo post that shows you what you need. In any event, here’s the list:
Floral wire, a thin bendable wire is ideal. 26 Gauge is fine.
a pencil or cylindrical object to wrap the petals around
First, you’re gonna need to make the crown. You can do this by using the wire you already have or you can use an old headband or anything that you like that resembles a headpiece. Thicker wire is also fine for this step. As you can see, OP twisted two pieces of wire together and left loops at the end (to attach the ribbon). Then they covered it in brown floral tape.
The second step is to make the flowers. Using your pencil/cylindrical object, twist the wire around it to create a ‘petal’. Repeat this until you have at least a couple of petals. 3-6 is usually fine, it’s really your call.
SLIGHTLY bend the petals back to create a natural looking petal.
After you are satisfied with the shape of your petals, cut out your flower, leaving some wire left to attach it to your crown.
Repeat the first few steps and make the rest of your flowers.
Take one of your flowers and CAREFULLY apply nail polish to it, one petal at a time. Think of it like making bubbles. It may be easier to pour the nail polish in a flat plate and dip it, or dip the entire flower into the polish.Repeat this for all your remaining flowers.
Twist the two ends of your flowers together to form a ‘stem’.
Wrap the stems with floral tape, preferably with the same color you used in the base of the crown.Repeat this for all your remaining flowers.
The third step will be attaching the flowers to your crown. You can do this a few ways. One way is to wrap the stems around the crown. Another way is to just wrap the stems with floral tape as you go along, like the OP did.Do this until all your flowers have been attached to your crown.
At this point, you can tie the ribbons to the loops like OP did, or decorate it any other way you like. :)
Enjoy your new floral crown!
You can purchase most of the items in Walmart, Michael’s or any craft or flower store. You can also order it online. :)
REMEMBER, this tutorial is just a guide. If you don’t want to use brown floral tape or if you prefer using the green floral wire, don’t be afraid to change it up. You can use any color or material your heart desires.
1. Watch loads of adventure time. Yes, it’s a show aimed for kids but the friendship between jake and Finn is unreal, it’ll remind you about the important things and remind you of so many important lift lessons that we forgot on the way to being an “adult”. 2. Open the windows and doors up in your house! I cannot express how important fresh air and sunlight are to your mental health!!!! Opening up the doors and even just opening up the blinds/curtains and letting some sunlight in can increase your mood like you wouldn’t believe. It’s amazing what a bit of natural light can do! 3. Go down to your local park and hang out with the ducks. Or any animals tbh. Being around these guys makes me feel like I’m on cloud 9. They’re so happy to interact with you and will listen to your rants without judging you. Animals are amazing! 4. Set yourself a limit of $10 and see what cool things you can buy. This night sound silly and dumb but buying yourself something completely useless and cute can make you feel better. And setting a budget to do so can be even more fun. You can find the coolest things for cheap (if you’re not up to leaving the house and being around other people ~urgh~ go shop online!) HINT: op shops, thrift stores and garage sales are a must! 5. Buy yourself some flowers (or borrow some from your neighbours garden!). Fresh flowers can really brighten your house/room up and buying them for yourself is way cooler than getting them given to you. Self love and self care are amazing. 6. Go to the library!!!! Sometimes the effort itself can be really hard but I promise you it’s worth it. Our brains are always hungry to learn more. Pick a subject you’re interested in learning it (eg at the moment I’m really keen to learn more about Native American culture and women in Russian history) and search through the book shelves. Grab yourself a story, something to study or even some just to flick through. Reading is a great distraction from any emotional troubles you’re going through (and again if you’re not up for leaving the house - use the internet. It’s so fucking resourceful). 7. Bake/cook/create! One of my favourite things to do in the kitchen at the moment is browse through the things I have in the pantry and fridge, think about the things you have and google recipes with the ingredients you have. It’s a chance to learn something new and cooking is always such a promising skill to have. 8. Watch something you’ve never watched before. Whenever I’m struggling with an anxiety attack I put on an episode of law & order I’ve never seen before and I am totally distracted for the next hour. It settled me and I get so involved in the story that I end up being so relaxed that I’m ready for bed. 9. Light a candle and have a bath. Never underestimate the power of a bath. Epsom salt and lavender oil is ideal for a relaxing bath. I know we hated them as kids but we’re adults now and anything that’ll put us in a sedated like state (without the drugs) is A+ in my books. 10. Yoga. I cannot express how amazing yoga is, I feel like it saved my life. I don’t have a lot of time to exercise (I barely get time to myself) so I try to swap my morning cigarettes for my morning yoga. Starting out the morning like this has improved my energy and mood stability rapidly.
Try and do a couple of these things a day and you’ll see a huge difference. Also some other things I didn’t add to the list: after dark walks in your street (or anywhere you feel comfortable enough to walk late at night). I like to take scissors for obvious protection but ALSO to get cuttings from my neighbours plants and nick some of their flowers (whoops). Peppermint tea is very calming and tastes great, start off your morning with some pep tea and yoga and you’re set. ❤️put on some make up and take some extra cute selfies to show off to the internet, do whatever makes you feel good aka bright blush, glitter and bold lips ❤️
